presents Phase 2 – 2014’s ensemble works.

Project CPR is a Claire French/ Restless Productions Initiative
Now in its fifth year, Project CPR has been able to continue due to the generous and visionary support from The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. The project started as part of Claire French’s residency at The Dance Centre in 2009. Project CPR was launched at THE DANCE CENTRE’S 2009 Open House. It is a delight to be able to celebrate its 5th year back at the place it began.
2014 has been an incredible year for CPR. Featuring high calibre artists who have offered a wealth of information and been so positive in sharing their developments. Jacinte Armstrong has travelled from Halifax, Nova Scotia to be involved. Both Jamee and Caitlin are incredibly busy dancers and teachers. They brought their own motivations to pursue their own work by throwing open the possibilities and finding new approaches. The dancers have been generous, committed and focussed. Now Project CPR needs funding so that these dancers can get paid properly for their work.

A research and creation-based professional development opportunity
Phase 1: 10 March- 16 April 2014
(Mon-Fri 10am -2pm)
Shadbolt Centre for the Arts
(with an informal showing at The Dance Centre April 13)
Three choreographic processes will take place over this period.
Approx 34 hours of creation per piece per phase.
Options for dancers depending on availability and suitability:
i) be selected for all three processes
ii) be selected for two of the processes
iii) be selected for one of the processes
Phase 2: mid- August- mid-September 2014 ( exact dates will soon be announced) Shadbolt Centre for the Arts (with a culminating presentation at The Dance Centre.

Dancers do not get paid for the creation. Performers will receive an honorarium per piece for the September performance.
